The transmission of data from the EasyViz server to an EasyViz client is never raw or unprotected patient image data or other patient data. The data stream between server and client resembles a “broadcast” signal – a sequence of frames that shows what type of processing is being done with the patient data on the server. Patient data are never present on the client device nor are patient data processed on the client device. Once the signal between server and client is terminated, no residual patient information remains on the client.

The Adaptive Streaming technology does not transmit raw frame data (video sequences) – instead, the data are compressed and encrypted using proprietary methods.

In addition, the connection between server and client can be encrypted, if required, via standard and secure methods such as SSL/TSL which are built into the EasyViz system. This is useful when accessing patient data from outside a protected environment, for example over the commercial Internet from a broadband-enabled phone or handheld device. EasyViz meets all HIPAA requirements regarding data security and patient privacy.

Since each image is streamed directly from the central EasyViz server to the EasyViz client through a fully encrypted connection, complete image security is gained and patient privacy is maintained as the images never leave the central server.

Finally, the EasyViz system implements complete and permanent audit trails, in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
