Stroke Use Case
The Golden Window for Effective Treatment
Stroke patients that receive proper treatment within three hours of the onset of symptoms (the “golden window”) have a better and more complete recovery than patients that receive treatment after three hours.
Large CT data Sets Limit Diagnostic Work
Patients that are suspected of suffering a stroke are typically given a CT scan. The reading and diagnosis of the CT data are best performed by a dedicated and specialized clinician (radiologist, neuro-radiologist, or neuro-surgeon). Because the CT data are generally large, and the specialized clinician requires many slices in order to make the diagnosis, the actual reading is usually performed on a diagnostic workstation where the CT data are stored.
Remote Access to Full-Fidelity CT Data
EasyViz provides remote access to complete full-fidelity CT scan data and the requisite analysis functions. This enables specialized clinicians to perform diagnoses of patients within minutes of scanning, regardless of clinician location. This significantly impacts the effectiveness of treatment.
Via any device connected to a dedicated network (LAN, WAN), or any device connected to a commercial network (DSL or Mobile Broadband), the specialized clinician can perform the diagnosis from any location that is served by the network.
